Wisconsin didn’t have to go far to find it’s newest director of basketball operations, as the perfect candidate was on staff all along. After four years as a member of the program, including last season as a program assistant, Bo Ryan hired Katherine Vosters on Friday.
“Kat has been a valuable member of our staff for several years now, working her way up from student manager, to program assistant and now in our operations position,” Ryan said, in a statement released by UW athletics. “She’s organized and has a strong work ethic and shown she is ready to take on the new responsibilities. This should provide a smooth transition for our program and keep us running efficiently.”
A 2013 graduate of UW, Vosters will begin her sixth year with the UW basketball program in 2014-15. Aside from her duties as program assistant in 2013-14, Vosters also served as a student-manager for four seasons.
“I have been fortunate to have worked with this program for the past five years, and to be given the opportunity to take on the role of Director of Basketball Operations is very exciting,” Vosters said. “I thank Coach Ryan and his staff for the opportunity and look forward to continuing my commitment to Wisconsin basketball.”
Vosters is a native of Fitchburg, Wis. and graduated from UW in 2013 with a degree from the Wisconsin School of Journalism & Mass Communication.
