Tim Wakefield is going on the DL due to stiffness in his right shoulder. From the ProJo:
“We’re trying not to have this thing get to the part where it did (last year),” said manager Terry Francona. “Missing two starts is not what we’re shooting for. But pitching at half-speed for the next 10 is not what we’re looking for, either.”
Wake was scheduled to start Tuesday but no replacement starter has been named. Since Colon in not ready the Sox will have to choose between putting Masterson back in the rotation or call up David Pauley, Devern Hansack or Michael Bowden.
