Walk Off Nation?

Walk Off Nation?
David Finch

Is it me or are things a little too close to comfort? Even with the banged up squad, and playing mostly AAA (or even AA) players these days: cuttin’ it a bit close are we boys?  I love the heroics and dramatics of a walk off win (and I did call the Ortiz walk off double. . ) BUT, we shouldn’t be relying on low percentage last minute heroics to win ballgames. . we have playoffs to get into!

I know soon Ellsbury, Pedroia and others will be back (hopefully) and that should give us a defensive and offensive boost, but still: I for one expect my Sox to be 100% and winnging EVERY GAME…. realistic? probably not.

Here is the point:
Even if the sox are 100% with all the Horses we want / need in the lineup:
there is still 162 games a year, and we’re going to win / lose our share of them: SO yes I’m holding my breath and not loving the walk offs. but a WIN IS A WIN!  Good on ya Sox!

I am excited and relieved to see Pedroia taking BP, and hear of Jacoby’s performances a Pawtucket hopefully we’ll have our boys back for the Yankee series to show them who’s the ones to beat in the AL East. . . so Walk off or not. . a win is a win. . . let’s just pad the lead a little for the defense so we have some breathing room shall we?

GO SOX
