Want the Bucs to tie up these guys to long term contracts?

Maybe you wont think the Bucs are cheap after you read this… This clip comes from New York Times NFL Preview, and this report can be found HERE on Paul Stewart’s www.bucpower.com.

This is what they had to say about Barrett Ruud: There’s no guarantee that improved tackle play will make these linebackers effective. People don’tWant the Bucs to tie up these guys to long term contracts?realize how mediocre Barrett Ruud is. Yes, Ruud is a productive tackler. But many of his stops come too far downfield. And when the Bucs need a thumper who can blow up a lead-block and make a tone-setting play, Ruud is often nowhere to be found.

And Donald Penn.. Left tackle Donald Penn was angry about not receiving a long-term contract over the off-season (He’s currently an unsigned restricted free agent and could hold out.) Physically speaking, Penn is one of the roundest human beings you’ll see. Still, he manages to play with good feet and balance. His lack of quickness can be an issue at times, but when he gets his hands on an opponent, he wins.Want the Bucs to tie up these guys to long term contracts?

What I wish people would understand, is that while most Bucs fans are quite knowledgeable when it comes to the game and current events, its downright silly and stupid to think anyone knows whats going on the inside. Picture your own work situation. Whatever you do, Im sure the general public thinks they know how your work situation works. I work in restaurants, and I laugh at how people THINK they know what restaurants are all about. Pro Football is no different; we get our info from news outlets, but thats only the the BUCS want the News Outlets to know! Not more! Its impossible to assume we know enough about Donald Penn or Barrett Ruud to make up a decision on what the Bucs should do. Thats what those people get paid to do, which is make the tough decisions on personnel.
