Another day closer to the start of Badger football and the new era ahead, who else isn't already excited? Well, if you aren't perhaps remembering that it's all of 45 days to Badger football, or as we like to say here at MTB… Just Warren Herring to Badger football 2013!
Herring was thrust into action thanks to nagging injuries all season long along the defensive front in 2012 and he proved why as just a sophomore the coaching staff trusted him. He'll be expected to play a versatile role this season thanks to his combination of size and speed at 6-3, 285lbs.
Herring's Story So Far:
– Named the 2010 Defensive Scout Team Player of the Year
– Played in all 14 games last season as a sophomore, making 13 tackles, 1.0 tackles for loss, and 1 sack
– Recorded a game high four tackles against Illinois this past season
– Also recovered a fumble and had a pass defensed in 2012
Herring also did this to #MakeBoPay for Coaches vs. Cancer this past year:
History of No. 45 at Wisconsin:
Sad story that perhaps the single greatest player to wear this number is also a man we've already talked about in our series and that's Nick Greisen, who wore No. 48 for the first two seasons of his collegiate career before moving to this one in his final three years at Wisconsin.
