TD GARDEN, BOSTON, MA — The Golden State Warriors took care of business tonight, walloping the Boston Celtics with a final margin of 20, although the lead reached as high as 31.

The two main highlights were in the first quarter, when the game was all but decided by back-to-back breakaway slam dunks by, interestingly the #SplashBrothers, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson, followed by a sighting of a Tupac Shakur look-alike, which prompted the bored crowd to chant, “Let’s Go Tupac! Let’s Go Tupac!”

Here are the sights and sounds:

PRE-GAME

The ties between Golden State and Boston are obviously strong. Danny Ainge said hello to Warriors assistant coach Brian Scalabrine before the game. And when Scalabrine talks, people listen. Even Rajon Rondo.

IN-GAME

The Warriors got off to a rare early lead. It was Warriors 12, Celtics 2, with 6:15 to go in the first quarter. Curry and Thompson recorded their breakaway dunks this early into the game. The one by Curry drew oohs and ahhs.

The team finally came out with energy. The Warriors led 30-22 at the end of the first quarter as David Lee racked up 8 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. The bench did its job for the second straight night. Here’s a video clip from courtside, featuring Jermaine O’Neal with two defensive stops and Harrison Barnes nailing a three-pointer. By 7:30 of the second quarter, the Warriors were up 42-29.

At halftime, the Warriors had stretched their lead to 61-40. All that was interesting were the championship banners that hung from TD Garden’s ceiling, the quest that the Warriors have undertaken in earnest this season. By the end of the third quarter, the lead hit 30, at 84-54.

Tupac was seen representin’ #DubNation. He was shown on the jumbotron as the DJ played “California Love”. This Tupac look-alike even flashed the peace sign. The Dubs finished roadtrip 4-2, 14-5 in last 19, surprisingly the best-ever in franchise history over a span of nineteen road games.

After the game, Lee had this to say:

Rusty Simmons of the San Francisco Chronicle reported this on Curry’s leg injury (read our recap, linked at the beginning of this article, for more):

Coach Mark Jackson gave the team the day off from practice tomorrow. We will report from morning shootaround this Friday when the Warriors face the Atlanta Hawks at 7:30PM local time at #Roaracle, to see if Lee’s prophecy will come true.
