We’ve been through this before…
Last summer, the Kevin Love sightings were pouring in as people realized the soon-to-be-traded forward was taking in the sights of what might have been his new home city. He seemed to enjoy himself here. Word is the Celtics would have probably gotten him if Cleveland didn’t get the top pick the same summer they got LeBron back. And now, after a long season of being misused in Cleveland, there is speculation that Love is one-and-done in Cleveland.
Boston is really the place he wants to be. We all know it. I bet he knows it, which just might be why, according to one insider, he spent a couple of off days here when the Cavaliers’ schedule allowed for some R&R at the end of the regular season.
Say what now?
Kevin Love… given a couple of days off before facing the Celtics spent time… in Boston?
Really?
Did anyone see him? How did the Globe’s hockey guy get this scoop? Why was it buried in the middle of “let’s show Love the love and cheer for him so hard he’ll HAVE to come play here” piece and not played up higher?
I’m not sure if this is or isn’t true. I have no reason to think Kevin Paul DuPont would fabricate or exaggerate it. It just seems odd.
I’ll tell you what though.. I’m kind of on board with the cheering thing…. at least for the intros. What kind of message would that send to a player if he got a rousing standing ovation like that while introduced as the visitor in a game where his team could bury the Celtics?
I can’t wait for next year’s Celtics-Cavs Eastern Conference Finals featuring LeBron vs. Love.
