Washington State’s Most Expensive Games Are All On The Road

Mike Leach and his air-raid offense will represent the Washington State football program for a fourth season after a disappointing 2014 that resulted in a 3-9 overall record (2-7 Pac-12 North).

It can only go up from last season, which ended abruptly for senior quarterback Connor Halliday, who was leading the FBS in passing yards before a leg injury against USC abruptly ended his campaign. One of the highlights from last season was Halliday setting a single-game FBS record with 734 passing yards, albeit in a loss to California.

Luke Falk—who entered the game after Halliday’s injury—takes the reigns of the offense. Falk went 1-3 in his four starts last season, throwing for 1,859 yards, 13 touchdowns and 7 interceptions. Leach and Falk will look to leave their first lasting impact on the Pac-12 conference in quite some time.

Washington State has high-quality road games this season at Washington, at the Rose Bowl against UCLA, and at Oregon. Hipmunk.com can get any Wazzu fan to any road game with affordable flights through most major airline carriers, and discounted hotel rates near most college campuses and major stadiums.

According to TiqIQ.com, below are the three most expensive Washington State football games in terms of their average ticket prices on the secondary market for their upcoming season.

Most Expensive: 11/27/2015 | Washington Huskies vs. Washington State Cougars | Husky Stadium | Average Price: $142.77 | Get-in Price: $73

The in-state rivalry between the Huskies and Cougars is the most expensive Washington State tickets for the season. The rivalry has had 107 meetings with the two teams playing for the Apple Cup since 1962, and the Huskies have had their rival’s number, being 69-32-6 all-time opposite the Cougars. Washington has taken home a victory in two consecutive Apple Cup games, while also winning five of the last six.

11/4/2015 | UCLA Bruins vs. Washington State Huskies | Rose Bowl in Pasadena | Average Price: $122.93 | Get-in Price: $46

The Cougars avoided Brett Hundley and the Bruins last season and will have the pleasure of playing in the beautiful Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California this time around. UCLA finished second in the Pac-12 Southern division last year with a 10-3 overall record, going 6-3 in the conference. The game against UCLA is the end of a tough four-game stretch that sees the Cougars play on the road against Arizona, home against Stanford, on the road against Arizona State and then finally, UCLA in Pasadena.

10/10/2015 | Oregon Ducks vs. Washington State | Autzen Stadium | Average Price: $109.86 | Get-in Price: $40

Fans of the Pac-12 probably didn’t enjoy last year’s National Championship that saw Oregon get overpowered by Ohio State. With Marcus Mariota moving onto the NFL as the No. 2 overall pick, Oregon has to replace its best player in program history before beginning the 2015 season. Last season, Washington State produced one of their most valiant efforts of the season, losing by seven points to No. 2-ranked Oregon at home in mid-September.
