Otto Porter is projected to be one of the top selections in this year’s NBA Draft. The soon-to-be 20-year-old out of Georgetown would address the Kings’ woes at the wing if he somehow were still available when the team picks seventh.
At 6’9 and boasting a 7’2 wingspan, Porter would provide Sacramento some much-needed size and length in a league where small forwards like Kevin Durant and LeBron James rule the world. He’s also touted as an unselfish player who looked to make his Hoya teammates better in a point-forward role.
In a draft that may not boast a bonafide superstar, Porter seems to possess self-awareness and a realistic outlook of his professional ceiling. At the NBA Combine in Chicago, Porter was asked about which active player mirrors his game the most. His response:
Tayshaun Prince is a good example that I want to take my game after. Long, lanky, can do multiple things on the court, can defend and is kind of a glue guy.
