Many are still questioning why Panthers head coach Ron Rivera elected to bench reigning MVP Cam Newton for the start of Sunday night’s game against the Seahawks.
The move proved to be disastrous, as Derek Anderson threw an interception on the first play of the game, and Seattle jumped out to a 3-0 lead.
Was that awful start worth sending a message? Maybe, but probably not.
Anyway, TMZ Sports has managed to uncover video of Rivera confronting Newton on one of the team buses outside a Bay Area hotel on Saturday. Newton was supposed to be wearing a tie, but was not, and he heard about it from the team’s head coach.
