The journey of Jimmer Fredette, the NBA player, has not been particularly fun. The 10th pick in the 2011 NBA Draft has struggled to acclimate to the pro game and found rotational minutes hard to come by. He is on to his third coach and second owner before his third seasons in the league, one of which was shortened by the lockout.
But everything is new in Sacramento this season and the former college player of the year is ready to make his mark on the league under new head coach Michael Malone.
“I’m excited to go into training camp with a clean slate, showing them what I can do and hopefully earning a lot of minutes,” Jimmer told Cowbell Kingdom during Monday’s media day.
The former BYU star has an uphill battle in front of him, but he’s not the type to shy away from a little competition. He is in a dog fight for minutes with veteran Marcus Thornton and rookie Ben McLemore at the shooting guard position. He will need a very solid camp if he hopes to earn consistent minutes this season.
