Notre Dame men’s basketball player Matt Farrell thought his brother wasn’t coming home from Afghanistan for a few more months. However, before the Irish’s game tonight, Farrell was granted the surprise of a lifetime.
Generally, Army deployments last anywhere between six and twelve months with communication intermittent depending on the mission of the deployed soldier. Even with communication developed from a deployed location, coming home to see family can be one of the greatest feelings in the world.
