Ells? Actually playing in a game? For the Red Sox? Seriously?
Yep. That’s the word. It was reported yesterday that Jacoby Ellsbury will be activated on Saturday from the disabled list after suffering 4 cracked ribs on April 11th. During his rehab starts in the minor leagues….he went 4 for 10 and got a…..STOLEN BASE.
Having Ells back in the leadoff spot. I cannot wait. Scutaro has stepped up big time, but we’ve definitely been missing Ellsbury’s speed on the base paths. We can suddenly get a running game going on. Also, the defense in the outfield…let’s face it, sometimes it just has not been good. Having Ells and his speed out there in left…can only make us better.
Welcome Back Ells! And Beltre…I have almost forgiven you for breaking him. Almost.
Sidenote: Mike Cameron is still on the DL with an abdominal tear. He is scheduled to play in AAA today and then be re-evaluated.
