Wednesday Night Links

I’ll give you some links tonight before I do a few other things.

Starting with Michele Greppi of TVWeek, she writes that Fox will kick off Super Bowl Sunday at 9 a.m. with a three hour show produced by Fox News. Michael Malone of Broadcasting & Cable reports that Fox News anchor Shepard Smith will host the election special. Alex Weprin also of Broadcasting & Cable reports that Versus has scheduled Presidential candidates John McCain and Mike Huckabee to be the first guests on its Sportsmen Vote ’08 series.

Pete Dougherty of the Albany Times Union writes in his Best Seat in My House blog that NBC’s flex schedule for the NHL isn’t as impressive as its Sunday Night Football lineup. And Dougherty says the University of Albany will kick off ESPNU’s lacrosse schedule against Johns Hopkins University for the second straight year.

The New York Post’s Justin Terranova says in his NYP TV Sports blog that Dan Marino makes some interesting comments about injured New York Giants TE Jeremy Shockey on tonight’s Inside the NFL show on HBO.

Variety picks up an Associated Press story that Justin Timberlake will star in a Super Bowl ad for Pepsi.
