Good morning, Warrior fans.
Here’s a look at some various media pieces out there involving your Golden State Warriors as they ready themselves for the Memphis Grizzlies sans Stephen Curry.
Carl Steward previews tonight’s game against the Grizzlies in the San Jose Mercury News and discusses the Warriors task of breaking a 10 game losing streak against Memphis without their starting point guard.
” This game, as with most games against Memphis, will likely be decided in the paint anyway. And with that in mind, it’s still a dynamic matchup considering the way both teams’ 4-5 tandems are playing right now. David Lee and Andrew Bogut combined for 22 points and 27 rebounds against the Jazz, while Zach Randolph and Marc Gasol totaled 49 points and 24 boards against the Clippers.”
Marcus Thompson discusses the latest on Curry’s mild concussion and the chore of a depleted Warriors squad facing the hot Grizzlies tonight in his “Inside the Warriors” blog.
“So Golden State is down its starting point guard, it’s backup point guard (Toney Douglas) and two back-up centers (Jermaine O’Neal and Festus Ezeli).
On top of that, Memphis – who has beaten the Warriors in 10 straight — is coming to town.”
Adam Lauridsen recaps the recent Warriors road win over the Utah Jazz even with an ineffective bench.
“Of all the problems that could be plaguing the Warriors, there are worse ones than “inability to hold onto a 28 point lead.” But the opponent won’t always be the hapless Jazz and the lead won’t always be 28 points.”
Monte Poole of CSN.BAYAREA.com discusses Coach Mark Jackson‘s decision to bring the starters back in the final minutes of their blowout win over the Jazz after the bench failed to do much of anything.
“I wanted to make sure my guys were fine, that they were still loose,” Jackson told Poole. “Once they said they were fine, it wasn’t a tough decision at all. I’m not into embarrassing any one of my guys, but if you continue to put forth embarrassing effort, you leave me no choice.”
ESPN is reporting that Memphis starting guard Tony Allen will miss tonight’s game for his flagrant 2 foul against Los Angeles Clippers guard Chris Paul last Monday.
