Losing this game would be very un-Colts like for the following reason: historically, when the Colts get on one of these long, regular-season winning streaks they don’t stop until they choose to stop — i.e., when they clinch their playoff seeding and rest players to prepare for the postseason. In 2004, the Colts won eight consecutive games to clinch the No. 3 seed before losing to Denver in the regular-season finale. In 2005, they won 13 consecutive games to clinch the No. 1 seed before losing to San Diego in Game 14. In 2007, they won six consecutive games to clinch the No. 2 seed before losing to Tennessee in the regular-season finale. Last year, they won nine consecutive games, including a victory over Tennessee in the regular-season finale. When the Colts start streaking late in the season, they’re very difficult to beat — at least in the regular season.
