-So, Ryan Fitzpatrick throws for his most yards since the Steelers game, without Lee Evans, and played along side a bunch of undrafted wideouts. Oh, and he went against a top 5 defense. Can we say that Lee Evans is expendable?-
-Could David Nelson be the best undrafted wide receiver in Bills history? Seriously, I can’t think of any guys that have been this good during their rookie years who were undrafted. As Brad Riter on twitter wrote, “If Tebow wasn’t throwing Nelson the ball at Florida, he would have been drafted.” Can’t argue with that. Nelson seems like he can catch anything thrown to him. Not to mention, for being such a big target, he can actually run after the catch pretty well-
-Jarius Byrd is playing real solid football right now. Yes, he’s not getting picks, but he’s been getting dirty when it comes to tackling and blitzing the QB. If Whitner ends up leaving next year, someone is going to need to step-up and start putting licks on wideouts (As if Whitner is really a great hitter). Byrd is showing that he has an edge to his game and can fill that role. BTW, George Wilson proved once again, why Whitner isn’t worth 7 million-
-As for your Fitzpatrick analysis for the week: WE DO NOT NEED A QB. Yes, I’m done with Locker, Mallet or whoever the hell becomes the combine star this year. Fitzpatrick made some great throws today. Sure, I know everyone loves to jump on him when he makes a bad throw, and speak about how franchise QBs don’t do that. Hate to break the news, but no one is perfect. His throw to David Nelson for the first touchdown of the game was on a rope. His perfect over the top throw to Roosevelt was a thing of beauty. If you want to dis Fitzpatrick’s accuracy…FINE. However, don’t tell me he doesn’t have an NFL Caliber arm, because he can drill the ball in small holes. BTW, to do all of this with a bunch of rookie wideouts is really eye-opening-
-BTW, I don’t want to hear about how bad Henne is, or that Miami sucks, or a guy that looks like Kid Rock played like Ray Finkle. Enough! I know everyone wants to put an asterisk next to every Bills win, and yes, three of those teams stunk. However, Miami isn’t a pushover. They have a tough defense, which ranks in the top 10 in pass and rush defense. For once, lets give them credit for a win-
-You want to know what the Bills could shop for in the draft and free agency? New inside linebackers. Guys who can cover on 3rd down. Guys who can make plays behind the line of scrimmage. Pretty much the opposite of Poz-
-We may have just put Bill Cowher in Miami with that win-
-Remember when the Bills were giving up 30 points a game for like 5 weeks straight? Well, over the last 8 weeks, the defense has given up an average of 18 points. If they could only get a defensive end-
–Memo to Stevie Johnson: You need to stick to “exposing” defenses on the field, not on your twitter page
-Lastly (Sorry, but I have to run, so this is a quick recap), I said two weeks ago that if the Bills ran the table, I would gladly exchange the top 5 pick for a top 10 pick. I still stand by that. I know they are going to have their hands full next week against the Patriots. However, they did lose to them by only 8 points in New England last time around. God, aren’t the Bills due for a win against the Patriots? If the Bills can somehow win, man, I’ll never be prouder of a 5-10 team-
