Another week has passed by us and that means that the Buckeye State Hockey mailbag is officially a go.

What is interesting is that I wrote about Korpisalo a week ago and said that if he kept up his current pace, he could see himself in the middle of a goalie controversy with Curtis McElhinney. Korpisalo is still very young and McElhinney is signed through next season, so it will take a lot for the team to turn their back on McElhinney; but, his salary could be buried easily if necessary. Korpisalo obviously has the tools and will one day be up in the big leagues but I think they are just going to take it a step at a time and not push him too hard right now. In addition to his talent, for a young goaltender, amount of playing time is an important factor. Bobrovsky has traditionally born more than the lion’s share of starts, so it’s worth keeping in mind that Korpisalo’s development may be better served if he plays in the AHL a bit more. In my opinion, Korpisalo will really have to make a statement to stick in the NHL with the season the team is having.
@BuckeyeStHockey Or better yet, will Rychel back off his trade request now that he's getting minutes and playing pretty good?

This is a great question. For all intents and purposes, I think those rumors can be put to rest. It’s not unreasonable to consider that Rychel wanted to get ice time in the NHL like the other first round picks in his class, Alexander Wennberg and Marko Dano. I think that for now as long as he is in the NHL, he will be happy. No reason for him to be sent back down as he is producing at a good clip. And his current production is better than most players on the Jackets’ third and fourth line. The next step would be to set him up in more scoring situations and put him in position to succeed.
@BuckeyeStHockey if you poke yourself & it hurts, are you really strong or super weak?

I don’t know about you but I am super weak. So, yeah, that is my answer.
@Sam_Blazer coke or pepsi?
— Psion (known dark mode enthusiast) (@ProjectPsion) January 28, 2016
I am going to go with regular Coke and then for the diet variation go with Diet Pepsi. I am a simple man, with simple tastes.
UNTIL NEXT WEEK.
