Where the heck are our Tampa Bay Buccaneers stat wise against the rest of the NFL?
- Josh Freeman is #10 QB in the NFL with his 95 QB rating( Cutler 121.2 1st, P Manning 121.0 2nd), but hes 23rd in yards per game.
- You can also mark Josh Freeman #6 with TD passes with 4 so far (P.Manning 6 for 1st), and tied with 7 others at #7 with only 1 pick. Flacco has 5(worst)
- Cadillac Williams is the 19th rusher with 63 yards per game, but he’s not even in the top 50 with per carry avg. Josh Freeman is however as he is 4th with his 12.8 yds per carry average.
- Kellen Winslow Jr is #40 with 57.5 yards per game avg receiving.
- Michael Spurlock is #8 with 24.5 yds per catch avg. Sammy Stroughter is #38 with 16.0
- Mike Williams is tied with 9 others at #5 with his 2 TDs
On Defense, one particular individual stat is most interesting…
- DE Tim Crowder is tied at #10 with 9 others with his 2 Sacks. One of the men he is tied with? Ndamukong Suh.
- Ronde Barber is #1 with 9 others with his 2 picks. Fellow 2 picker would be none other than Steeler Troy Polamalu.
- EJ Biggers is tied at #10 with 1 interception with about 50 million other guys, including Aqib Talib.
- Barrett Ruud is tied for #25 with his 17 tackles
- Geno Hayes is tied for #32 with his 16 tackles. No word on how many of Geno’s tackles were around the L.O.S., or Line of Scrimage. Ruuds tackles tend to be of the ‘Line of Scrimmage w/ Extended Results, or L.O.S.E.R. I’m just reporting guys. And yes I did make that up.
TEAM STATS- How the Bucs as a team rank against other teams.
Oh the OFFENSE- Yards Per Game- Tampa Bay is 24th with Houston and Indianapolis coming in at 1 and 2 respectively. Buffalo is 32, Pittsburgh is 31. Passing- Tampa Bay is 25th (173.5), With Indi and Dallas coming in 1 & 2, and same Buffalo 32 and Pittsburgh 31 at the bottom. Rushing- The Bucs are 15 rushing with 107.0 per game, – Houston and Phili take the top two, Washington 32 and New Orleans a surprise at 31. The last time the Saints ran the ball so poorly was 2007, and 2008, when they struggled to stay at .500. Field Goal kicking is considered offense, and Tampa Bay is tied at #10 with Pittsburgh and Cincinnati at the top. Cleveland and Seattle are bottom dwellers here. The Bucs are 17th in scoring with 18.5 points per game. That ranking is w ith total points though…as far as FG accuracy goes, Connor Barth is tied for first not missed yet this year going 3 for 3. So far 20 teams have not missed a FG attempt, 4 of them only having tried 1 kick so far this year. DEFENSE! DEFENSE! Overall total yards, the Defense ranks 15th with 309 per game given up. Tennessee and Baltimore are no. 1 & 2, Washington and Houston are last. Really? Did you watch the score of the Washington VS Houston game? Did you need to read this to know they were last?! Pittsburgh is 6th. Tampa Bay is 11th in Pass Defense. Tennessee and Baltimore are still 1 & 2, same two teams at the bottom too. Bucs are 15th against the run, much improved from this same time last year! Chicago and Houston are No. 1 & 2! How does Houston have the no.2 rush D but worst overall D? easy, that Washington game!Arizona and Indianapolis are at the bottom. Indi has given up 188 yards per game, but Houston is responsible for a great bit of that. Bucs are 11th is Time of Possession given up which is 28:25 seconds. Scoring Defense- This is what counts guys. Tampa Bay- #3. Miami is 1, Pittsburgh is 2. Take the under Sunday no matter what! Tampa Bay is 14th is Yards per play given up, which is 4.5 yards. Tennessee is first at 3.4, Houston is last at 23.0. Again, this early in the year, one bad play kills or makes you stat-wise. The Bucs are #10 is 3rd down %, or getting off the field on third downs. Pittsburgh is 9th. Australian Rules Football rules in Tampa Bay, as the Bucs are 7th in Punting with a 41.2 avg, and combine the Bucs special teams players, the Bucs actually drop to a rank of 17 with a 36.8 avg. Patriots and Raiders No. 1, San Diego and Chicago at Bottom. NOTE: one good punt return kills that avg of course this early in the year. SO what have we learned? The Bucs aren’t that bad, coming in around average in most of the stats, a little high than average is some, and a few a little lower than average. The Bucs have improved. JUST FOR FUN- Straight from the Bucs website, Kellen Winslow Jr became the second fasted tight end to 300 catches, having done it in 61 games. But someone did it in only 57 games. Can you take a guess as to whome it was? It was his father of course, Kellen Winslow Sr. Tight Ends: Fewest Games to 300 Receptions
