What’s up, Colts fans? Last Sunday was a disappointing day, as our boys and #ChuckNay managed to steal defeat from the jaws of victory. We are going to look back at this season and sigh when we look at this game.
But whatever.
Someone submitted two questions via Twitter but I absolutely could not locate them in my mentions, so they’re not included. To whomever it was, I apologize.
Let’s see what’s on your minds…
Q: Who or what do you think caused the greater problem(s) leading to our loss Sunday? – Kimberly
There are two things, and I’ll answer from smallest problem to biggest. 1) Brissett just wasn’t able to unleash his arm and complete some deep passes. Some of this is due to his newness, some was due to the line. 2) Charles Pagano. The guy doesn’t have a clue. He needs to go. Now. #ChuckNay
Q: Is Captain Andrew Luck (via twitter) the funniest thing going today? – Amy Louise
No. I hate that account. @HelenKeller is much, much funnier. And twice as much on Sunday.
Q: Have the Colts resorted to going back to the Jeff George days and cold showers until they win? – Jodi
They might as well. Irsay should pull a Rachel Phelps from the movie :Major League” and start depriving these guys of things. Maybe that will work.
Q: I don’t care what anyone says… They’re axes on the shirts they gave us Sunday, and no one can tell me otherwise. #ChoppingWood – Kim
In case you missed it, this is the shirt the team gave away last Sunday…
While I’m pretty sure these are blacksmith tools in keeping with that whole #ColtsForged thing, she does make a good point here, and boy does it suck. The last thing I want to be reminded of is Charles Pagano and his stupid sayings. #ChuckNay
Q: What positives can Colts fan take-away from last week’s game? – Amy Louise
A few things…
Brisket didn’t play poorly and should only improve with more reps.
The defense played pretty well. Yes, Carson Palmer appears to be fading badly, but the Colts defense played a part in that. The record may be 0-2 (AGAIN, Charles #ChuckNay) but the run defense has been terrific so far. We haven’t been able to say that in a long time.
Most importantly, the play of the rookie DB’s was very encouraging. The trio of Quincy Wilson, Malik Hooker and Nate Hairston all had their shining moments. Wilson got beat a few times, but was all over the field. Hooker made a terrific play on the ball and picked it off, so much like the vintage Ed Reed of yesterday that prompted the Colts to draft the kid in the first place. Hairston actually executed a true corner blitz and got the sack. When’s the last time the Colts did that? The future is bright, folks.
See you soon, Colts fans.
