As we move further into the hockey season, we are starting to reach a point of no return for our beloved Jackets. Will they finally turn the corner or should they pack it in for the season?
@BuckeyeStHockey would you guys be able to help a Varsity High School hockey team develop a shot chart and red zone efficiency metric?

I want to first start off the mailbag by putting this out there for everyone to see. Our friends over at DKM Hockey need some help and are recruiting people to help track advanced stats. Unfortunately I am a busy bee and won’t have time but this is an opportunity that you shouldn’t pass up.
@Sam_Blazer @BuckeyeStHockey if you could trade any player, why would it be David Clarkson
— chuck analytics (@ChuckAnalytics) November 10, 2015
If I could trade any player it WOULDN’T be David Clarkson.
*ominous music plays in background*
No offense to David Clarkson but trading him wouldn’t bring much back in return, if anything at all.
I would much rather trade a player that could get back a good return that would add something to this team right now. A player who may never have his stock as high as it is today is Scott Hartnell. Hartnell is on the wrong side of thirty and is due to start aging at some point, right? He could be very valuable to a contender (not named the Kings) and could fetch a pretty big return for someone at the deadline. A sixty point scoring winger isn’t growing on trees and surely teams would flock to acquire him. I’m not suggesting this is what should or will happen, but from a value perspective, Hartnell would be a player to consider.
@BuckeyeStHockey Do you wanna cry too?
— Phil R (@PostGradPhil) November 11, 2015
Nah, I don’t want to cry over this team. I have seen a lot of the bad moments in franchise history and while this team isn’t playing well at all, I do see glimpses of the team that Jarmo promised. Now if I was trying to cry I would probably toss on a real tearjerker of a movie. Maybe, Old Yeller? It’s A Wonderful Life is an almost guaranteed tearjerker as well.

Shameless plug but when I watched the Jackets lose on Tuesday, I was drinking some of Land Grant’s 1862 Ale. You can’t really go wrong with any of Land Grant’s selections if we are being completely honest. Just remember to drink responsibly.
UNITL NEXT WEEK… MMMM BYE!
