Happy Monday evening Cougar fans!

Boy, was today a beautiful day or what?· I held my Cougar Head a bit higher this week at work, with a sense of pride knowing what our team accomplished last weekend in Corvallis.· I don’t know about you, but I don’t think a Cougar victory has ever left me with a bit of a tear in my eye?Where does last weekend’s win rank for you?· Is it a good thing or a bad thing that this one ranks up there· for me with some of the recent Apple Cup victories, the USC game in 2002, and the Oregon game in 2006?

That sure says a lot about how far thing have fallen, when knocking off Oregon State on the road makes a mark like that. The win sure does mean a lot of things.· Do you think Chris Ball has ever cried in a post game interview, after beating a 4-4 squad?· I don’t think so.

1) It shows the troops that when everything goes right, they can win games. This means that all of those wind sprints and extra reps in the weight room, the things that nobody sees them doing, make the difference between winning and losing.

2) It shows recruits that this coaching staff and this group of players very likely does know what they’re doing.

3) It means the Apple Cup matters. Just a few weeks ago I was deciding whether or not I truly wanted to go to the game.· Hell, why spend a couple hundred bones to watch our team get their teeth kicked in? I’d rather spend it on something productive like a trip to the Tulalip or a few hours at Deja Vu.· Even though this team is 2-9 Overall, 1-7 in Pac 10 if the Huskies don’t beat either UCLA or Cal, then the loser of the Apple Cup will be the 10th Place team in the league. This win definitely rejuvenated a fan base that was so incredibly desperate for something to celebrate.

Before we move onto this week’s action, I would just like to say, to the men in Crimson and Gray, thank you, and damnit, beat the Dawgs!!

Without further ado, here are some lines that I am liking:

Washington -2.5 vs UCLA:· The Huskies are on a three game bender of being outscored 138-35, against Stanford, Arizona and Oregon. For what it’s worth, the Cougs lost to that same set of teams by a tally of 105-58.If I were asked to do a power ranking of the conference at this moment of, the Huskies would be one spot below WSU.· The Bruins are coming off a nifty, last second field goal win against Oregon State two weeks ago. Ive got to imagine Tricky Ricky has a few cards up his sleeve in his second return to Muttlake. However, the Dawgs are still vying for bowl eligibility, and I think Sark will get them playing for this week’s Blackout Crowd.· Dawgs cover, barely.

Fresno State +31 at Boise: Last weekend the Bulldogs played their heart’s out and almost came away with the win over Nevada. By the way, how can ESPN honestly hype Collin Kaepernick as a Heisman Candidate? First of all, he plays at Nevada.· Secondly, the following are likely finalists ahead of him, all on better teams:· LaMichael James, Andrew Luck, Cam Newton, Kellen Moore and Andy Dalton.· Sometimes the “Worldwide Leader” pisses me off.·Anyways, Chris Peterson called of the hounds last weekend at Idaho, and barely covered 35.·= Fresno gives them a much better run here.

Wisconsin -5 at Michigan: Here is my logic, what do you think?· Michigan barely escaped Indiana. Wisky hung 83 on Indiana. Badgers win this one by no less than a touchdown.

Oklahoma State -24 at Kansas: Last weekend the Pokes got jiggy with it in Austin, and beat the Longhorns by 17.· Kansas, despite a decent effort last week against Nebraska, are still scoring less than and giving up more than Texas. Pokes by 35.

USC -3.5 at Oregon State: USC is playing pretty darn well, I am amazed Kiffin has these guys caring enough, with nothing on the line this season. How awful has Oregon State looked for the past month now? I guess they’re just a really bad football team.· Then again, I predicted they would finish lower than any other contributors on the blog; ok, but at the time, I said they would beat USC.· They couldn’t block or tackle last weekend against the Cougs, and I think USC finally escapes Reser with a victory.· Trojans by at least 10!

That is all I have for you today Cougar fans, have a great night!
