THREE Questions:
- Will Rivera play? He almost pinch-hit last night and the Angels claim he could return this weekend but they’ve made similar proclamations before.
- Have the Angels learned their lesson about pitching to Jason Kubel yet?
- What can we expect from this TBD guy? I hear he has a good fastball but his secondary stuff is a little weak.
TWO Predictions:
- With all the comeback victories lately the Angels bullpen hasn’t had a chance to blow a lead in awhile. I predict that changes this weekend.
- I don’t know who it is going to be, but I have a hunch that by Monday morning the Angels are going to have themselves a new player on their roster (and I reserve the right to cop out if they call someone up from the minors).
ONE Wish:
- I wish for Ervin Santana to decide whether or not he is going to be good. One game he is lights out, the next he is all over the place. All I am asking for is some consistency so the Angels can figure out if they need to trade for another starting pitcher.
ZERO Tolerance for… the fact that Mike Scioscia might be working Chone Figgins and Bobby Abreu into the ground. I know we just had the All-Star break, but Bobby Abreu hasn’t sat out a game in over a month even though he is old and bothered by various maladies and Figgins hasn’t gotten a rest since April 26th despite the fact that his tiny frame isn’t built to withstand playing every single day. Just remember I mentioned this when both guys fall into fatigue-induced slumps in October.
