The Angels have fallen into second place in the AL West and now they are without Torii Hunter AND Vladimir Guerrero. Color me forlorn.
We won’t be seeing this for awhile.
Not even the prospect of delivering the annual ass-kicking to the damn Yankees can cheer me up right now. Let’s just get through this series and get to the All-Star break while I still have the will to live.
THREE Questions:
- Has anyone informed Joe Saunders yet that he is allowed to throw inside against righties? No? Dammit.
- Can I boo Teixeira loud enough from my couch for him to here it in the stadium? I don’t know, but I sure as hell am going to try.
- Did Brandon Wood bring his first baseman’s mitt? With two nasty lefties on the slate, Wood might get a shot at replacing Kendry Morales for at least one game, though I am sure Robb Quinlan will undeservingly get the call instead.
TWO Predictions:
- John Lackey finally avoids a big inning meltdown but still loses in a pitcher’s duel.
- Gary Matthews will strike out looking at least four times in this series and will pretend to give a crap only once.
ONE Wish:
- I wish that Mike Scioscia would play Reggie Willits over Gary Matthews for obvious reasons.
ZERO Tolerance for… Brandon Wood collecting ass splinters. I just don’t get why the Angel management insists on calling up their elite prospects when they have no real intention of using them. Why not give someone like Freddy Sandoval a chance to see the majors for a bit. They won’t mind sitting on the bench and you won’t be antagonizing your fan base at the same time. It’s a win-win.
