THREE Questions:
- Can the Angels stay rested? Friday’s game kicks off the first game a in a LOOOOOONG stretch for the Angels in which they only have one off day between now and September 23rd, including two East Coast road swings. If there was ever a time for all the injuries to catch up with the Angels it is now.
- What can O’Sullivan do? He’s coming off the worst start of his young major league career and probably is going to need to get much better results in his Sunday start if he wants to stay in the majors.
- Have we really seen the end of regular playing time for Gary Matthews? With Private Matthews catching fire a little bit and Torii Hunter set to return any day now, will Scioscia find a way to keep Matthews on the field, especially with Rivera and Abreu both slumping?
TWO Predictions:
- The Angel rotation catches fire and allows just seven earned runs all weekend.
- Kendry Morales has a lapse on his diet and gets caught waiting in line at Boog’s BBQ during the seventh inning stretch.
ONE Wish:
- I wish for the Angels to sweep the Orioles, taking advantage of the fact that the Rangers are playing the Red Sox, creating an opportunity for the Angels to really expand their divisional league.
ZERO Tolerance for… further delays in Torii Hunter’s return. He’s already had one setback in his recovery and now he apparently may have to sit out a few more days because he has some kind of virus. What a tease.
