Welcome to the Nittany Lion’s Den

Bloguin finally has a Penn State blog, and this is it.

Welcome to Nittany Lion’s Den.

Just when you thought that the last thing the Internet needed was another Penn State blog, we started to put one together through the Bloguin network. We are pleased to be joining a network that is home to some well-established sites such as Awful Announcing, Aaron Torres Sports, Blatant Homerism, and In the Bleachers just to name a few. It is an honor to be along side such a roster moving forward.

What is Nittany Lion’s Den?

We will aim to not just be another Penn State blog. Rather, the intention is to bring a unique voice to the table of the Penn State blogosphere. We may be the new kid on the block but I am confident that in time this site will be worth making a stop to in your regular Penn State reading. Sure, we will have the stuff you would expect from a well-managed Penn State site including news and reaction but we will also offer some original content that we hope you enjoy reading.

Nittany Lion’s Den will join other Big Ten sites such as Iowa Hawkeye State, Rise Northwestern, The Duane Long Report, Eye and Eer, and of course Delany’s Dozen. As we move forward we hope to establish a relationship with these sites and others and add to the general conversation regarding the Big Ten.

You can get started with our community as we plant the seeds for the site by following us on Twitter and on Facebook.

Who Are We?

At the Nittany Lion’s Den we have an eclectic bunch providing content. We have a mix of fans and journalists that will blend together to form a pretty decent group. In time you will get to know each of our writers through a quick intro post by each.

My name is Kevin McGuire and I have been covering Penn State football for Examiner.com for the past two seasons, and am prepared to enter my third season. I am also the national college football writer for Examiner.com and have been fortunate enough to attend a number of events such as the unveiling of the Nike Pro Combat uniforms and bowl uniforms and a couple of bowl games over the past two seasons. I also host a college football podcast and Internet radio show at No 2-Minute Warning. I am also a member of the Football Writers Association of America.

Like you, I grew up watching Penn State football and I will take just about any chance I get to share my thoughts on the team. Every time I make a radio appearance it seems as though I answer at least one question regarding Joe Paterno, and I am fine with that. Hopefully you are as well.

In closing, I hope you enjoy your experience on the site. A lot of work has and will be going in to it not only from our staff but also behind the scenes at the Bloguin offices. Please feel free to contact us at anytime with your questions, concerns or ideas. Your feedback will be important to the progression of the site.
