In the grand scheme of things, if you think the Patriots 45-7 beatdown of the Colts in the 2015 AFC Championship game was because the game balls were a fraction below the allowed PSI, you’re either a troll or an idiot.

And if you think that the Cardinals success the past success the past few seasons since Jeff Lunhow left the origination was because someone figured out his passwords to the Astros internal sites to look at some scouting information… well, you’re either a troll or an idiot.
This story is going to amount to two guys going “hey, I wonder if we could log in… HOLY CRAP! What should we do now?!?” #stlcards

To be clear – what the Cardinals are under investigation for is NOT COOL.
(Aside: This wasn’t a hack. A hacker is one who enjoys the intellectual challenge of creatively overcoming and circumventing limitations of programming systems and who tries to extend their capabilities… not using old passwords on new accounts.)
I’m sure the FBI will do their due diligence. And If I’m being completely honest with myself, this probably wouldn’t be all over the NY Times unless there were some pretty solid evidence that the accusations have some merit.
But the crime will not fit the backlash.

It’s going to be bad.
All these outlets (and many more) are going to be on this one like a Kim Kardashian baby name reveal party. All the ‘Cardinal Way’ guff from other fanbases you were already pretty tired of hearing about? Get ready to eat it like Joey Chestnut on the 4th of July.
The BFIB are going to be tested.
As if this hasn’t already been the best/worst season in Cardinals history… now the Feds have joined the party!
At least Mo won’t be getting questioned about Trevor Rosenthal today, right?
UPDATE:
- This one is a doozy by The Sporting News
- Also some internet gold over at Reddit
