None of this will be official until tomorrow evening, but here’s one fan’s take on the BCS lineup:
- BCS Championship- Oregon and Auburn
- Rose Bowl- Wisconsin and TCU
- Sugar Bowl- Ohio State and Arkansas
- Orange Bowl- Stanford and Virginia Tech
- Fiesta Bowl- Oklahoma and UConn
On paper (or HTML, whatever), these are pretty good matchups; we’ll finally see if TCU “deserves” their BCS opportunity, and Bob Stoops will get a chance to FINALLY win a BCS game. Stanford will be playing a Hokie team that has won eleven straight, and Ohio State’s defensive weakness (secondary) will be up against the best QB they’ll see all year.
Other storylines:
- Michigan beat a BCS bowl team. Let that sink in… OU gets to play a team that only manged 10 points against the Wolverine defense.
- Also, as Tom put it– “The Big T1e1n’s 7th best team beat the Big lEast’s BCS representative by 21”. Meanwhile, Michigan State (more than likely) gets to sit at home.
- The “Sugar Bowl” may also be called the “Got The Hell Out Of Dodge Bowl”, as former teammates Ryan Mallett and Justin Boren will face off against each other.
- Again, credit to our pal SouthBayBuck– I’d love it if the National Championship Game could pick up sponsorship from Dell or Apple, given some of the history there.
We’ll have lots of commentary and coverage here at tBBC, but wanted to start off with an opportunity for you to chime in with your thoughts and snarkasm…
