Holy crap. The Celtics beat the Cavs. I still can't believe it.
KG was an absolute BEAST: 22 points, 11-19 FG, 12 rebounds. (Earlier in this series, one Celtics blogger stated he was not comfortable with KG taking 20+ shots per game. He has changed his mind.) Rashard Lewis shit himself three times watching this game.
Tony Allen (10 polints, 3 steals) played incredible defense on LeBron James. Incredible. And that ferocious dunk on Jamison was vintage TA, circa 2006.
Paul Pierce came alive in the 2nd half and nailed 3 big three pointers that fueled the Celtics runs. The first bomb hit with 4 minutes left in the 3rd quarter and upped the Celtics lead to 65-58. The second came two minutes later and gave the Celtics their largest lead at the time 73-61. The last one came with 8:06 left in the 4th and it pushed the Celtics lead to 83-74.
Rasheed Wallace had 13 points in 23 hustled-packed minutes. I think he played the entire 4th quarter.
I dare you to find one national media member who credits the Celtics defense for the job they did on LeBron and the Cavs in this series. Mark Jackson and Jeff Van Gundy ripped the Cavs for quitting in this game and in the series. You know why? Because the Celtics made them quit.
"Halfway home that's all here come them CELTICS" – Paul Pierce on Twitter after the game
