Weslye Saunders Ineligible For NFL Draft And Combine

Weslye Saunders continues to make news for all the wrong reasons.  His latest stroke of bad luck has him being reportedly ineligible for the NFL Draft and also the NFL Combine.

Seems the paperwork of the former USC Gamecocks tight end was filled out in error as he failed to ask for a special exemption to be allowed to take part in the upcoming NFL Draft since he was a senior but didn’t play in the 2010 season.  Due to this error in his paperwork, he is ineligible to participate in the draft thus also ineligible for the NFL Combine.

Imagine how the poor guy feels….following Saunders on twitter, I have seen that he has been working hard in getting into top shape so I feel for the guy.  I know “you make the bed you lay in” but we were hoping that Saunders would have a good showing at the Combine and live up to his top ranked tight end billing going into the 2010 season.  Of course, that was before a hotel issue caused him to miss the entire season.

I am sure one NFL team will take a chance on him in the free agent market after the draft so don’t feel too sorry for him.  Pay day is coming.
