Ok –

First, let’s just go ahead and watch this again. Maybe twice.

Better than drugs.

(Side: Mr. McCarver, I was there last night. So were at least a few thousand other Cardinals fans. We were all going crazy during and after that home run.

You said on your call “37,865 excited fans… until this. Now they’re numb.” Considering that number was the total attendance, you’re really underselling the amount of STL fans in Wrigley. We’re not mad, just pointing it out. Or you were making a comment about the 50 degree weather in July. In which case, carry on.)

Considering the opponent and the previous 8 innings – this is your new reigning ‘Game of the Year’.

+++++

The Cardinals escaped Chicago with a 4 game split despite starting Tim Cooney and Tyler Lyons in two games and surrendering 17 runs in the last 3.

One of the big advantages of the fast start the Cardinals have had in 2015 is that they don’t have to do anything more than be .500 against the Cubs (and forthcoming Pirates) in order to be NL Central champions.

Tread water on the road.

Mission accomplished in Chicago. Let’s see if they can do the same in Pittsburgh.
