  • Pennsylvanian Buckeyes Representing Well – TP, Jordan Hall, Andrew Sweat, Dorain Bell, Philly Brown… some of our best came right out from under the Nittany Lions. Send a message.
  • No Place Like Homan – Welcome back, Ross; stay healthy, my friend.
  • More Posey, Please! -After a couple of good games, it will be great to see him fully back as a viable cog in our offense.
  • Remember Who You Are – McGloin was a walkon. It will be great to remind PSU fans why, especially if Cam has a game like he did last year.
  • Style Points – Unfortunately, the Buckeyes are going to need them to have any hopes at the Roses this year. Given their history of not playing well after mid-season byes, it will be important to prove that the Buckeyes are still focused.
  • No False Starts – Three weeks in a row?

Joe

  • A healthy Pryor – There are reports that he is very healthy, and hasn’t felt like this for quite a few weeks.
  • A decisive victory – One that makes pollsters say maybe we shouldn’t forget about the Buckeyes just yet.
  • A great fall November Day in Columbus – With great weather, College Gameday, and a game that has the fans pumped all day long.

Jay

  • We must protect this house – Penn State will be charged up after win 400, so we’ve got to come out ready to take their best punch and give it right back.  It was a great milestone and moment for Penn State last week, but this is our stadium, and we’ve got to prove that we’re the better team.
  • Efficient, precise offense – Moving the ball consistently, passes on target, and an overall feel of “crispness” after a week off to rest a bit and focus.
  • Pass coverage – I don’t want to see any big yardage plays for Penn State.  Instead, how about tight coverage down the field, continually making them look for the short option.

Eric

  • Jump out to a big lead – Don’t let Penn State hang around.  Smother them early and put ’em out of our misery.
  • An increased role for Philly Brown – I asked for it against Minnesota and didn’t get it.  Can I get my wish this time?
  • Another 100 yard game for Dan Herron – I loved seeing him rattle off 100 against Minnesota.  Another 100 against Penn State would go a long way towards making the end of this season a good one.
  • Improvement in the special teams – I said in our inaugural podcast that I believed we would finally see the special teams play better after having extra time to sort things out during the bye week.  I would like to see that prediction come true.

Jim

  • A confused, disoriented, ineffective Penn State offense – They have a young QB, a below average offensive line, and a running back that has a bad habit of disappearing against good opponents. Let’s remind them why they struggled so much offensively for the first half of the season… and that our defense is a bit better than Michigan or Northwestern.
  • A warm welcome for Matt McGloin – link He (McGloin) said it was “just ridiculous” that the Buckeyes had been installed as 17-point favorites, and added that the Lions are “definitely going to be able to move the ball.” Big words deserving of a warm welcome by the #3 defense in the country. In case you were wondering, McGloin has played against Michigan (#114 defense) and Northwestern (#75 defense) in the friendly confines of Beaver Stadium so far this season.
  • Improved reactions in the secondary – The safeties haven’t been out of position most of the time, they just haven’t been looking for the ball in the air and making a play. With an extra week of practice and the help of Mr. McGloin, I want to see some pass breakups, interceptions would be even better.
  • Players stepping up on defense – As mentioned above, some big plays in the secondary would be a nice start. If one or more players (Heyward, Homan, ect.) in the front seven can have a big game, Ohio State will be in great shape.
  • An effective offense imposing their will – Establish the run game with lineman crushing people up front and Boren running over linebackers, in the run game, it is about having the right attitude. In the pass game, give Pryor plenty of time to make smart decisions throwing the ball to focused receivers running crisp routes. The team has had an extra week off, they need to come out fast and focused right out of the tunnel.
  • A team that looks like they are ready and able to win a championship – Yeah, that sums it up nicely.
