- A repeat of last year’s Rose Bowl – Shake things up with the playbook, catch them off guard, but above all, be in attack mode from start to finish.
- Foot on the gas pedal – After Saturday’s embarrassment for the Big Ten, we need to remind the nation that we are not the lousy conference that they think we are. Also, at the same time, we’ll be reminding everybody why we are the 6-time champions.
- The Buckeye Five to shine – Haters gonna hate no matter what we do, but the fans will rally behind Tressel’s decision if the five suspended players outshine everybody on the field.
- No false starts – Because if two of us ask for it, maybe it’ll happen.
Eric
- A focused team. There’s lots to distract the team these days. It’s critical that they remain focused and take care of business.
- A youth movement. The Buckeyes have plenty of seniors in important places on this team. They will take care of their job, but it’s important for next season to have some of the younger members step into bigger roles. Win or lose, this game could be a big step into next year.
- Dominant play from the secondary. Mallett will get his yards and score points, he’s too good not to. However, the secondary can make his life extraordinarily difficult if they play up to their ability.
- Aggression in all phases of the game. Tressel is famous for his conservative play. This is the game to throw that off and go for the jugular. Arkansas is more than worthy of respect – all the more reason to make certain to put them off their gameplan as quickly as possible.

- Taking care of business/Getting back to basics. With the distractions of off-field issues, coupled with the usual bowl-game hype and festivities, it would be great to see a Buckeye team that clearly is focused on playing, and winning, a football game.
- Some noteworthy positives to finish the season. Obviously a win would end the season in good fashion, but hopefully we can take it one step further and be able to identify about three key points that are also “wins,” in the intangible sense.
- Effective in-game adjustments. I’d like to finish the game being able to say that our coaching staff had an answer for each attack thrown at us by Petrino’s offense. Arkansas will likely land a few punches, but let’s see timely, well-executed counters.
Jim
- I want to SEE the game, on mute; don’t really care what the announcers think about off the field issues.
- Angry, focused play; In high school we bet the hell out of a better team because we thought one of their players busted a teammates’ car window- a similar response to adversity from the Bucks would be nice
- Bend but don’t break plus first down; slow down their offense, sustain drives, win.
Joe
- A win over an SEC team.
- An announcing crew that speaks about the game, and doesn’t discuss the off the field issues the entire game.
- A focused team playing together, a putting all the off the field issues behind them.
- Young guys stepping up and showing that they are ready to take the next step going into next year.
Mali
- No false starts. Consider it a new year’s resolution.
- TE involvement. We’ve got the resources… might as well use it. Stoney, I’m looking at you.
- Dial in Knile. While everyone’s been talking about the great arm of Ryan Mallett, I personally think the key to controlling this game will be to limit Davis’ ability to break a big play. His development over the season was key to their success, in my opinion.
- Shut up and play. I talked about this with the Arkansas Expats guys; it would be great for TP to make headlines on the field with his play rather than for things he’s said to someone in the media.
- Shut up and talk. I agree with what everyone else said- I want to hear more about what’s happening between the sidelines and less of the discussion and debate that we’ve had shoved down out throats thus far during the Bowl season- Tat Gate, Big Ten bowl records, 0-9 vs SEC… blah blah freaking blah
