What I Learned Last Night: Nov 22, 2012

Every night (well – perhaps not EVERY night) I’ll be firing up my NBA League Pass and scanning that night’s box scores to bring you, my beloved reader, what I learned from the NBA that night.  Because the internet was invented for knee-jerk, totally premature, irrational reactions to things.

The Shortest 7-Footer Around

The Raptors lost another heartbreaker last night, this time to the Bobcats.  Not helping the matter at all is that their starting power forward (a 7-footer no less), Andrea Bargnani, grabbed a total of 2 rebounds all night.  Bargnani has always been a horrible rebounder, but this year he is worse than ever – his 4.4 boards per game are by far the worst among all forwards playing at least 30 minutes a night.  And the one thing he can do – put the ball in the basket – he’s failing at this year, also – he’s shooting 38.6%.  So Toronto’s starting power forward – the team’s “star” – is shooting 38.6% from the floor and grabbing a whopping 4.4 boards a night.  That’s a good recipe for a 3-9 start.

Kyrie Who?

Jeremy Pargo – 39 minutes, 11-19 FG, 4-8 3Pts, 28 points, 5 rebounds, 4 assists.  Kyrie who?

Back to the Future

Another game, another double-double for Tim Duncan (he’s averaging 18 & 10 for the year).  What year is it again?

Washington Sucks

That is all.

LeBron James is Really, Really Good

That is all.

All They Need is Love

34 points, 14 rebounds.  Welcome back, Mr. Kevin Love.  Now if Minnesota could get their 1,523 other injured players back, they’d be in business.
