Seriously – more players need to show a disdain for their opponent. Enough hugging before and after games. Enough working out with each other in the offseason. Your opponent is supposed to be your enemy, not your buddy. And, no, I didn’t just learn last night that KG is an insane sociopath.
Cleveland could be scary good this year.
Yes, it was just the Wizards that they beat, but how good did the Cavs look last night?! Their starting backcourt of Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters combined for 46 points; their starting big men (Anderson Varejao and Tristan Thompson) got 33 (!!) rebounds and 14 (!!) assists. If Cleveland get anywhere close to this kind of production on a consistent basis from those four players, the playoffs will be theirs.
Hurry back John Wall.
Washington’s leading scorers last night were Jordan Crawford and Emeka Okafor with 11 and 10 points respectively. No one else scored in double-digits. John Wall can’t get back from injury soon enough for the Wizards (and not just because I have him in my fantasy pool).
Dwyane Wade‘s demise is greatly exaggerated.
29 points on 10-22 scoring. Yes, he’s not as explosive (he missed a finger roll layup that would have been a ferocious dunk a few years back), but he’s still effective.
Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis are fitting in just fine, thank you.
Miami could definitely be even better this year, thanks to new additions Ray Allen and Rashard Lewis. They combined for 29 points off the bench last night, matching Boston’s total production from their bench players.
