A barre is a stationary handrail that is used during ballet warm up exercises. The term also refers to the exercises that are performed at the barre, as well as that part of a ballet class that incorporates barre exercises.
Barre3 was developed here locally in Portland OR. by Sadie Lincoln. As the founder of barre3 exercise studios, she creates classes inspired by three of her favorite disciplines: ballet barre work, yoga, and Pilates. Sadie teaches at her flagship studios in Portland, and trains all barre3 instructors and studio owners worldwide.
The 3 in barre3 symbolizes balance, a core value of the business, practice and life. Classes are designed to transform the body to one of equal balance, strength and flexibility.
Each exercise session lasts for 1 hour, and each workout consists of a number of intense sessions designed to target different body parts (think legs, arms, abs, etc). Barre 3 can help people break plateaus because each workout is different.
Consider trying a class at Barre3, you’ll be pleased with the quality and effective results.
