What Owens report should you believe?

OK so watch this video

Now read this article by Mark Gaughan from the Buffalo News.

T.O. upbeat

There were no complaints from receiver Terrell Owens Wednesday about not getting the ball much in Monday’s loss to New England. Owens was in a forward-looking, move-on mode in talking to the media.

Asked if he was frustrated about only getting three passes thrown his way (actually it was four, because one catch was called back by penalty), Owens said:

“Well, I know going up against a guy like Bill Belichick and that defense, schematically, they took myself and Lee (Evans) out of the game plan a little bit. And there were some times when we missed opportunities, but overall, I was very satisfied with the way we played, again up until those last five minutes. We had an 11 point lead and we pretty much let it get away.”

Pressed on why he and Evans were held in check, Owens said:

“There were some opportunities that we missed, and those are some of the things you’re talking about. It’s always a work in progress, and Trent has to better assess what he’s seeing out there and take some shots down the field. We’re going to do that, and by no means was that the reason that we lost the game. There were some opportunities and until the last five minutes, we had the game in the bag. That really wasn’t that case. Obviously we didn’t utilize myself and Lee as much as we would like, but we still had the game won.”

Mind of Joe
I had written last week when the news broke about whether Owens was complaining or joking about the no-huddle offense, that media outlets may take different stances on the issue. For the most part, it was in favor of Owens complaining. But this week on “As T.O. Turns,” ESPN and TBN totally took different stances on the comments of Owens.

I’ll say this, I thought Owens for the most part said the same thing a player of his stature would say. Now if you were to get out the psychiatrist or the doctor who appears on Fox News who looks at whether a person is lying by his facial expressions, then Owens is probably in the process of throwing someone under the bus. At the end of the day it’s pretty much bullshit and played out. Let me know when he says Edwards sucks and AVP is the Pillsbury Dough Boy.
