What they are watching

Nice piece by Oehser on how the Colts will follow the weekend

Interestingly, they will watch on the games large televisions, modern ones, and that’s interesting because they have pictures and sound — particularly sound — so clear that once was a cliched answer to a lazy too-often-heard press conference question — Coach, what do you get from matching your next opponent  on television? — actually now has an answer worth printing. For years, that question was followed by a meatless answer about how you couldn’t see much until you saw the game film.

Caldwell, who said he will undoubtedly spend his team’s hard-earned bye weekend watching the NFL playoffs with his his always-ready-for-some-football wife, Cheryl, said this week that answer is for the past, that with HD there are things to be picked up from broadcasts that actually can help in trying to learn about an opponent.

Caldwell said TiVo has changed the answer, too, that being able to rewind and rewatch a play has made watching the next opponent’s games a bit more than an entertaining way to spend a rare weekend off.
