It’s 11:15 AM EST and I have no idea what to do with my life: Twitter AND Facebook are down and have been for the past couple hours. It feels like the world is coming to an end. Not only could I not check my Twitter feeds which every morning directs me to my favorite sites’ latest content, but I also could not tell people that I was about to eat a bowl of Cookie Crisp. Oh, the humanity!!
Now I’m not sure what has caused the two popular sites to crash for the time being, but they better fix it or else millions of people might occupy their times with something else. It kind of reminds me of that scene in “The Cable Guy” when the world was waiting for the Sam Sweet verdict and Chip Douglas lands on the satellite dish right before it’s revealed. The people are put into shock without their TV entertainment fix and one guy even goes as far as opening up a book to read. I’m not going to get that crazy, but I might just start using MySpace if they don’t make haste on correcting the problem.
In the meantime, for the next four minutes, enjoy the ending of the movie “The Cable Guy,” a classic flick.
UPDATE: Facebook was up and running shortly after this post and Twitter’s main page is loading as of 12:10 PM EST. Apparently, Twitter had a DOS attack and they are all over it, correcting the issue as I type.
