Wheeler Signs, Immediately Goes Offsides

This picture is still funny to us

UPDATE: It became official this morning… the Bruins have accepted the arbitor’s decision and have signed Blake Wheeler to a 1 year deal worth $2.2 million. Pretty  much a bargain when you consider Ryder’s deal. Go away Ryder.

According to the ever reliable James Murphy, resident Offsides Master Blake Wheeler is rumored to have been awarded $2.4 million in arbitration.

That was the amount that had been rumored for a few days, and seems fair if true.

We give Wheeler a lot of crap around here at Days of Y’Orr. He’s constantly offsides. He’s 6’5″ but plays like he’s 4’5″. Open nets are his worst enemy.

But he’s young. He’ll be just 24 years old by the time the season starts and presumably has plenty of room to grow. And learn not to go offsides.

The youngster scored more points than Sturm and evil ginger Michael Ryder. He’s definitely got potential. So we’ll see. Days of Y’Orr will update you with the actually figures and funny funny Wheeler jokes as we hear more.
