I came across the above ad on Syracuse.com earlier on Wednesday and it got me to do some thinking.
In my thoughts, I began to wonder when the heck did the Syracuse Orange football team became an Empire? Sure they are 7-3 and are bowl eligible for the first time since 2004. Does that make them an Empire?
Yeah, I didn’t think so either.
Even if they were an Empire, which they aren’t, the ad can be looked at in another way. If you think back to last year, the Huskies beat the Orange 56-31 in which Orange head coach Doug Marrone had some choice words for UConn Huskies head coach Randy Edsall.
So maybe the ad is about revenge. Well, at least publicly, the Orange say last year’s game is in the past.
Now that’s something I definitely don’t believe. You know the Orange will be out for blood on Saturday night.
Well at least that’s what the ad implies to me.
