When Excuses turn into reasons…Injured Reserve List gets two more starters.

NO one would blame the Bucs if they just say it…we can’t continue to compete in the NFL with this many players being injured. Gone first was the starting safety, Tanard Jackson with a one year suspension, and as hard as it was to believe, his backup, Cody Grimm came in and played better against the run. Then Grimm was lost for the year too! Only one of the starting offensive linemen from the Cleveland game are still playing on the offensive line. That is not good; sure its nice to know you have depth, but consistancy is a little more important. Jeremy Zuttah lost his battle at left guard to Keydrick Vincent, but when Jeff Faine was hurt earlier in the year, Zuttah played Center with accolades, and Vincent couldn’t hold his own against Ted Larsen. Now, Jeff Faine is gone once again, for the year, only a week after losing our starting right guard. Zuttah is handy, but he cant play all five spots at once! Take a look at the IR roster: Demar Dotson T Jeff Faine C Davin Joseph G Cody Grimm S Suspended: Tanard Jackson S Aqib Talib CB Brian Price DT Brandon Gilbeaux DE Kyle Moore DE Add Kareem Huggins and Jon Alston, LB, you have a pretty large part of your starting 22 gone for the year. Yet Raheem Morris and Mark Dominik have done a great job of scouting for players who can step right in like they don’t miss a beat. But how long can they do that? With Talib gone early, E.J. Biggers held his own against Roddy White. But Aqib Talib has been lost for the year, and maybe more importantly, Faine has been injured a lot in his tenure here and Jeremy Zuttah may find himself the starting Center next year when this team reconvenes in August. Along with Zuttah, Cody Grimm should find himself the new starter at Safety when Tanard Jackson becomes eligible, which will really give this team depth. Running back will have the speedy Kareem Huggins next year too. Next Year.
