I mean really now, could you imagine back in the day… Roger Staughbach getting fined for hitting Herm Edwards? The NFL is starting to get a little out of hand with all of the fines and stuff. Look at the photo..Freeman is a QB, he is not training every day on keeping an eye out for players out of bounds. He was focused on stopping Grimes from scoring! He leads with his arms, no helmet, and he doesn’t go to the head, he goes to the body. You can pretty much bet any money you want, the NFL is going to an 18 game schedule. It may not happen for a couple of years, because the NFL is going to really cut down on injuries so it can see “see…we went to an 18 game schedule and there are less injuries than when it was only 16 games…” but meanwhile the game is changing. I personally am not so neanderthalic as to need to see violence to enjoy a spectacle. I dont need to see a fight to enjoy a good hockey game. But I love watching good defense. And good defense is tackling, and hitting. Its at the root of the game; its part of fundamentals. Take hitting away, and you take away a part of football you dont want to lose. I just hope its only the worst of the worst that the NFL is looking to remove. Not a QB plowing into a defensive back who stepped out of bounds when he saw him coming at him!
