Where Future And Past Meet

Arizona Diamondbacks v New York Mets

The future is adding some fragrance to the present.

Michael Conforto had two RBI, and Dominic Smith (home run) and Amed Rosario had the other two RBI as the Mets defeated the Diamondbacks 4-2 on Wednesday night for their first win since Saturday. Chris Flexen turned in what is technically known as a quality start, giving up two runs in six innings. Quality, of course, is a relative term, as Flexen gave up six hits and four walks in those six innings (I think Flexen has five 1-2-3 innings in his six starts). But he waded through the valley of darkness and found light.

The big news is that apparently, Flexen is nicknamed “Big Baby”. If Glen Davis doesn’t have a problem with it, the mascot of the New Orleans Baby Cakes might. But this is a good win for the future. I wish the win could count for the future as the present is kinda pointless. And the past is trying to catch up to the present with dental floss and a thimble. The future and the past will be fighting over what’s left of the present rubble.
