Kyle: The Cardinals will miss the playoffs. Their defense has been decimated by injuries and they play in a battering ram of a division. Their quarterback is banged up and it’s nearly impossible for teams to survive injuries for a sustained period in the NFL.
Rick: The 2-0 team that is the most likely to miss the playoffs is the Buffalo Bills. First off, let’s give a ton of credit to Doug Marrone and the Bills for winning these first two games. Their defense is very good, especially the front seven. They have a solid duo of running backs in C.J Spiller and Fred Jackson plus a dynamic playmaker on the outside is Sammy Watkins. However, out of the unbeaten teams right now, the quarterback I trust the least is E.J. Manuel. He hasn’t played a full season yet, which is somewhat of a concern. If Buffalo doesn’t ask him to do too much, they can hang around, but I still expect the Patriots to win the AFC East. The Bills have the talent to make the playoffs as a wild card, but it hinges on Manuel and I can’t trust him just yet.
Raj: The 2-0 team that I think will most likely miss the playoffs are the Buffalo Bills. They’ve definitely started off great but come on, they’re still the Bills. This team still isn’t ready even though they’re slowly getting on the rise. Even though they have the 2-0 record, in a couple of weeks or so, we will probably start to see them decline and lose a ton of games. Ultimately, a ton of losses = no playoffs.
Derek: My top three candidates are Arizona, Buffalo, and Houston. I’ll give Houston a pass simply because they play in such a weak division. Arizona is a tempting pick because their division is so strong. Still, the answer here has to be the Bills, doesn’t it? We’ve been down this road before with 2-0 Bills teams in the past and there’s nothing to make me think that things are about to change. This team could easily be 3-5 at the season’s half-way mark.
