With fall camp just five days away, and the season opener in just 31 days, it’s time to take a look at the schedule and discuss where the challenges will come in the Oregon season.

For some, the answer would simply be Nichols, because it’s the next game. For others, the long road trip to Virginia and the Charlottesville humidity stands out as a potential trap.
The Ducks open PAC-12 play with a home game against California on September 28th. New coach Sonny Dykes is an offensive wizard, attempting to build his Air Raid offense around a pair of young quarterbacks and tailback Brendan Bigelow.
Their first serious road test in October 12 versus Washington at Husky Stadium. The Huskies haven’t beaten Oregon in the last nine tries, but this season they have an offense loaded at the skill positions with senior quarterback Keith Price, 1400-yard tailback Bishop Sankey, tight end Austin Seferian-Jenkins and wide receiver Kasen Williams.
2012 South Division Champion UCLA comes to Autzen on Saturday October 26th, led by sophomore quarterback Brett Hundley and All-American linebacker Anthony Barr.
Eleven days later, the Ducks face PAC-12 Champion and preseason Top Five contender Stanford in Palo Alto. Last year The Cardinal handed the Webfoots their only loss of the season, 17-14 in overtime. Quarterback Kevin Hogan returns to lead a rebuilt offense, as Zach Erst and Stepfan Taylor are gone to the NFL. The defense, which returns ferocious hitters like Shane Skov, Trent Murphy and Ben Gardner, will continue to be the strength of the team. The Ducks face a November 23rd road game against Rich Rodriguez and his Arizona squad before ending the regular season by hosting Oregon State in the 118th Civil War on Friday November 29th. Oregon has won the last five versus the Beavers, a boil that festers on little brother’s nose in Corvallis.
