If you are a casual fan of the Red Sox or someone who left the country for a few months you might be surprised by the players in the starting lineup. Take Saturday’s lineup against the Giants: Marco Scutarto, Darnell McDonald, Adrian Beltre, Daniel Nava, Bill Hall, and Mike Cameron were not on the Red Sox last season. Since Buchhoz and Victor Martinez started playing late last season, that left just Kevin Youkilis as the only player in the lineup who playing with the Red Sox at this time last year. With the injuries to Pedroia and V-Mart we may even see some new names soon.
