Who Has That Great Idea For Our Kickoff Song???

With kickoff staring us in the face, I thought a good topic might be what song should the Buckeyes play as Basil/Barclay approach the ball?  This is one of those “Audience participation” posts, since  I have a couple ideas, and what we have heard in the past, but tell us what you think:  What songs do the FANS want to hear?

Here are songs that I know we have played over the past couple years.

  1. Ted Nugent – “Stranglehold” (Obviously this was when Nugent was kicking off)
  2. Coheed and Cambria – “Welcome Home
  3. AC/DC – “Thunderstruck” (I could be wrong on this one, but I know it has been played during the game)

For the last few seasons the mainstay has been the White Stripes’ – “Seven Nation Army“: here is kickoff against Iowa last year.

As good as this was, the USC game was even better- I don’t think I stopped bouncing all night until the end of the game. It was amazing at Penn State, too; but it does seem that it got a little overplayed.

I think the 3rd down bell (AC/DC – Hells Bells) is a great touch.  It is played the right amount times, and doesn’t feel overused.

Here are are  list of songs that are played in College and NFL stadiums

  1. Ozzy – Crazy Train
  2. Trick Daddy – Let’s Go
  3. Zombie Nation – Kernkraft

What do you think? Any preferences?  If we get some great ones,  The Buckeye Battle Cry will email the Ohio State marketing department with suggestions!
