Last year, Penn State had a season that wasn’t very good at all. They had 2 wins against Big Ten opponents. That’s terrible. The main reason that they were that bad last year was that Tim Frazier was injured for most of the season. Well this year, he’s back, and the Penn State Nittany Lions are in good position to have a great season.

In the 2012-13 season, Penn State’s best player Tim Frazier got injured after the first couple games, and he missed the rest of the season. That eliminated Penn State’s chances of going to a postseason tournament of any kind. In the 2011-12 season though, he averaged 18.8 points, 6.2 assists, and 4.7 rebounds per game. That’s amazing! He can assist other players, he can score, and he is one of the best rebounding guards in the entire country! He is a great player. I am really looking forward to watching him play in 2013-14.

Penn State’s point guard last year was D.J. Newbill. Newbill is a shooting guard that was forced to play point guard last year because Tim Frazier got injured and Penn State had nobody else, and he still did pretty well. Last year, he averaged 16.3 points, 4 assists, and 5 rebounds per game. That’s really good, and I expect his numbers to get even better this year, when he returns to his normal position at shooting guard.

Penn State has a very dangerous backcourt, but that’s not all. They still have guys like Ross Travis, and Brandon Taylor who can be very effective. Penn State is a very small team, but I think that that won’t be a problem because they are quick. They have a very quick, and athletic set of players who can get around the big men and score.

The 2013-14 season is a season that Penn State fans should look forward to. I really believe that Patrick Chambers and the Penn State Nittany Lions will be dancing in the NCAA Tournament this year!
