Can everyone that’s planning on meeting up for WHYGAVS Night at the game on Friday and has ordered a shirt please drop me an e-mail at some point in the next couple days? I need to know how many shirts to bring to the park with me. As for the other plans, I’m currently leaning towards meeting up at Vincent’s (the pizza place in the outer stadium facade on Federal Street that’s right near the ticket window by the right-center field gate and the Clemente statue) around 6ish. If you’re planning on showing up, remember that you’re responsible for your own ticket (meaning buy a cheap one and we’ll figure out where we can all sit later). I’ll have the final details posted on Friday.
Meanwhile, the Pirates are described as being “heavy” favorites for Luis Heredia, a Mexican pitching prospect who will become eligible tomorrow. I’ll try to have a bit more about the July 2nd signing period when it kicks off tomorrow.
Most of you have probably noticed this, but in case you haven’t, Trent Stevenson, Zach von Rosenberg, Brooks Pounders, and Zack Dodson are in action in State College. Gift Ngoepe is also playing for the Spikes and off to a sizzling start. Meanwhile Colton Cain is in Bradenton and joined there by a rehabbing Brett Lorin (acquired from Seattle in the Jack Wilson trade and possibly the best prospect in the deal) and everyone’s favorites, Rinku and Dinesh. With all these guys, plus draft picks as they sign, these two teams are worth keeping an eye on for the rest of the summer.
